Modern architecture places increasingly high demands on facades, both aesthetically and technically. Facade elements determine the rhythm, appearance, and detailing of a building—and precisely because they are so crucial, they must be installed with the utmost precision. Any deviation is immediately visible. Schöck Netherlands, a specialist in thermal breaks, is introducing a solution that addresses common challenges in facade fastening.

In many projects, technical details on paper do not align well with reality, even though the schedule is often already set. Installing anchoring systems takes a lot of time, and minor dimensional deviations sometimes only come to light once work is already underway. This leads to extra work and delays.

“We see these challenges cropping up time and time again,” says Els Vermeulen, marketing manager for Schöck Netherlands and Belgium. “Installing facade elements is time-consuming, complex, and leaves little room for flexibility in scheduling. That’s why we’ve developed a solution that significantly simplifies both the preparation and the execution.”

Retrofit as a Game-Changer

That is precisely the core of the new solution. Schöck has developed a system that allows facade elements to be retrofitted—using a crane—onto an already finished facade. This means that the facade finishing and the installation of the elements are no longer dependent on one another. Construction scheduling becomes more flexible, and unnecessary costs are reduced. The system builds on technology that Schöck has been successfully using for years in balcony connections. By applying this proven expertise to facade elements, a reliable thermal break is created, combined with a dry, simple installation process.

Els Vermeulen: “We’re not introducing a completely new concept, but rather cleverly adapting proven technology to a different application. Anyone who wants to see how this works in practice is welcome to visit booth 08.D038 at the BouwBeurs.”
