'Home battery market grows explosively'

The home battery market is growing rapidly. More and more households and companies are opting for this method of energy storage. Installation company Recharged is responding to this and is now installing several home batteries per week.

For two years, Recharged has been helping their customers install home batteries, but their expertise goes back much further. "From day one, our focus has been on expert advice and skilled installation. With hundreds of installations completed, we have accumulated extensive knowledge and experience," owners Mike de Groot and David van Gaalen tell us.

"The market is undergoing tremendous development. Where home batteries were hardly ever installed two years ago, we are now seeing an explosive increase. In countries such as Germany and Belgium they have been commonplace for years, and popularity is also growing in the Netherlands, partly due to the approaching end of the net-metering scheme in 2027."

A smart home battery for every situation

A home battery makes it possible to cleverly store (self-generated) energy and use it at the most favorable times. Advanced software automatically determines when it is advantageous to charge or discharge. Recharged installs these systems at both individuals and businesses.

"Prior to each installation, we review the situation on site. We analyze the cable route, check the meter box and determine the optimal location for the battery. This is because there is more to it than just placing the battery: think about backup options, control and integration with the existing installation.

"Because of this thorough preparation, we avoid surprises and can deliver an installation that perfectly matches the customer's needs. Moreover, we work with certified fitters and are InstallQ accredited, so quality is always guaranteed."

Personalized advice as a starting point

The driving force behind the creation of Recharged was the need for better consulting in the market. "We noticed that many companies focused purely on sales and paid less attention to customized advice. Customers were not getting enough insight into what a home battery could actually do for them."

"We believe it is essential that every customer understands how a home battery can best contribute to their energy management. After all, a home battery is not just about buying and selling power, but also about providing a smart, efficient energy supply for the home. Sound advice takes more time, but pays for itself in the long run. This benefits not only the customer, but also us as a company."

The acquisition of the knowledge platform Thuisbatterij.nl by Recharged further strengthens this advisory role.

Complete unburdening

Recharged has become a specialist in home batteries. "We regularly receive inquiries from customers who have purchased a battery from another installer but are experiencing problems with its operation. We help them with technical support and solutions."

Mike de Groot, with five years of experience in the sustainability industry, focuses on technical consulting and installations within Recharged. David van Gaalen deals with information and customer advice. "Our team consists of four employees in the office and eight technicians in the field, who install home batteries, solar panels and air conditioners on a daily basis. Our goal is to completely unburden customers and provide a seamless energy solution."
